We thought that was backwards. A video you're allowed to watch is a video you should be able to back up — for an edit, a class project, a moodboard, a memory, or simply because it made you smile. Creators want to archive their own posts; everyday users want to keep a clip before it disappears.

So we built the boring, reliable middle layer that does exactly one thing well: paste a link, get the original file. No ads-in-your-face, no signups, no watermark, no compression. That's reeldown — and that's the whole promise.

reeldown is built and maintained by a small, independent team of developers who simply got tired of clunky, ad-stuffed downloaders. We are not affiliated with any social network — we're just users who wanted a tool we could trust, so we made one and opened it up to everyone.
